HiP urges inclusion of S.1409 in Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

Nov 10, 2017

The Heat is Power Association sent letters urging Senate Finance Committee members to include S. 1409, the Heller, Carper, Graham, Casey bill, in the Senate tax reform proposal, Tax Cut and Jobs Act. Inclusion of S. 1409 is critically important to the WHP industry as only legislative clarification can remedy the inequity created by imprecise drafting when Congress established the original Sec. 48 investment tax credit (ITC) for combined heat and power (CHP). Without parity in the tax code, developers will continue to look offshore, and the many benefits of this highly clean, reliable, domestic power source will be lost.
