Oak Brook, IL – September 17, 2021 –The Heat is Power Association (HiP) is pleased to welcome Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems manufacturer Exergy International SRL (Exergy) to its membership.
Exergy is a leading international ORC manufacturer featuring a pioneering Radial Outflow Turbine technology. Based in Milan, it is part of the Chinese TICA Group and encompasses 470 MWe capacity in its portfolio. In the industrial sector ORC technology upscales plants already in operation helping customers reduce their carbon intensity while producing electricity by recovering waste heat.
HiP Chairman John Prunkl said, “We are excited to see Exergy making a strong entrance in the U.S. waste heat to power market. Exergy is a leading global ORC manufacturer with a proprietary technology that allows for highly efficient energy production using heat sources from renewables and waste heat. With the rapidly changing American energy landscape moving towards decarbonization and higher energy efficiency, Exergy prudently recognizes the market potential for its ORC technology here in the USA.”
Sergio Morlacchi, Exergy’s Business Development Manager sees that potential, “The transition to a carbon neutral energy system is Exergy’s goal. Our vision is to provide innovative technologies for clean, sustainable and efficient power generation. Exergy introduced the innovative patented Radial Outflow Turbine (ROT) which can uniquely be applied on a wide range of products to achieve more energy efficiency, significantly reduce industrial carbon footprint and generate carbon-free power from lower heat sources using organic working fluids.”
Why is joining HiP a good move for Exergy? Sergio Morlacchi responds, “We recognize the value of working with an organization like Heat is Power in terms of networking with U.S. companies and also gaining insight into the evolving U.S. policy landscape for waste heat to power. We appreciate the fact that HiP is focused solely on waste heat to power and getting our unique message out to the market and policy makers. I personally look forward to being an active participant in HiP’s policy advocacy on behalf of Exergy and our industry.”
The Heat is Power Association is the national trade association representing the waste heat to power industry. HiP educates decision makers about the untapped clean energy opportunity presented by waste heat resources in the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. It advocates for policies that level the playing field for deployment of WHP along-side other emission-free power like wind, solar and geothermal. Our efforts include educating policy makers, regulators, and energy and environmental stakeholders about the zero-emission value presented by recycling waste heat into valuable energy for the hard to decarbonize CI&I sectors. www.heatispower.org
